Art mural project encourages collaboration

April 17, 2017

MuralTALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 17, 2017) —The Collaborative Mural Project at Tallahassee Community College, sponsored by the TCC Art Club, brings together the campus community in celebration of individual and collective creativity. The installation is located in the east entrance hallway of the Student Union. The square tiles that comprise the piece are created using a variety of mediums and materials and display subjects as diverse as the artists themselves.

Designed to be open-ended, the mural installation will expand with additional art tiles as more individuals contribute their art each semester.

Samuel MacHado, TCC student and Art Club treasurer, said, “The mural is a great way for TCC art students to share their creativity with the rest of the college community.”  MacHado was involved with the mural from the beginning of the project, and he encourages more students to get involved with the art on campus. Contributing to the mural is a “good opportunity for any student on campus to explore his or her talent,” he added.

The mural embraces a message to inspire, encourage collaboration and celebrate the value of self-expression in the TCC community.

Both TCC students and TCC employees are invited to participate. For details on how to get involved, contact the TCC Art Club adviser, Julie Baroody, at baroody@tcc.fl.edu.
