Transfer Student

Students who are transferring from another institution such as a Florida private or public community college, a state or private university, or an out-of state college or university are considered transfer students.

Please follow these admission steps in order to be admitted to TCC as a transfer student:

1. Apply for Financial Aid

If you are eligible for federal financial aid, this money will help pay for your college expenses. You must apply as soon as possible because there are limited federal funds available for all students. You do not need to wait to be admitted to submit your financial aid application, also known as the FAFSA - Federal Application for Federal Student Aid. If you have any questions regarding your financial aid application, please contact the Financial Aid office at (850) 201-8399.

2. Submit your TCC application for admission and all other relevant information.

Either complete TCC's online application or download a printable application (pdf 183.27 kB) . Please remember to fill it out in its entirety. In addition, please remember to submit all transcripts from the institution(s) you have attended while you were not enrolled at TCC. You must also submit the following documents with your application:

  • Official high school transcript or official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
  • Residency form

3. Take the College Placement Test (CPT) if you have not completed college-level English and math courses or if your college-level English and math courses from another institution did not transfer to TCC.

This test is not for admission but for placement purposes. If you have taken the ACT or SAT and there are no more than 2 years-old, please submit these scores along with your TCC admission application. If you have not taken these tests, you will be required to take the CPT. You can contact the Testing office at (850) 201-8282 to schedule an appointment to take the CPT.

4. Schedule your orientation

All new TCC students are required to complete New Student Orientation before registering for classes. The orientation program familiarizes students with TCC policies, campus procedures and a number of important student resources. The information provided through the orientation program enables students to make smart decisions when scheduling classes and provides strong guidance as students work toward future academic and career goals. Students can satisfy the orientation requirement by attending an on-campus orientation, or completing TCC's on-line orientation. Students should make arrangements to complete orientation after they are admitted to the College. Please contact the Orientation Office at (850) 201-8440 for additional information.
