Scholarships

TCC awards millions of dollars in scholarships each year. Scholarships are awarded to students on merit basis and do not have to be repaid. Students can apply to all TCC scholarships every fall and spring using the online application.

In addition, students can receive scholarships and grants from outside sources. These include state programs such as Florida Bright Futures.

Grants

Grants are needs-based awards that do not have to be repaid. The most common grant programs are funded through U.S. Department of Education including the Federal Pell Grant Program. There are also some grants which are funded through private organizations and professional associations.

Loans

Student loans can be used to cover the cost of tuition and fees, books and supplies, housing, food and transportation. Unlike scholarships, loans must be repaid so students should only borrow what is necessary to cover these expenses.

Federal Direct Loans are student loans that are funded through the U.S. Department of Education and are guaranteed and regulated by the federal government. They offer students a way to borrow money for college at a very low interest rate.

Work Study

The Federal Work Study program allows students to earn money to pay for college expenses while gaining valuable employment experience. The program provides part-time job opportunities on or off campus and is need-based.
